A great day's weather and a visit to a hill that I just knew would be a good viewpoint. I had passed this way many times and had thought that this was a hill that I must climb and today was the day. I parked opposite the old Amulree hotel and followed a track past North Amulree farm. This track winds its way round the eastern side of the hill almost to the summit and from its high point, a rough ATV track goes all the way to the cairns (there are two- neither is the actual high point which is an embedded rock near the most eastern cairn). So although it looks a bit steep, this is a very easy hill walk. It is grouse shooting country and I startled a few birds but there was no sign of shooters. Craig Hulich from the approach to Amulree.....

On the track, looking south to Meall nan Caorach and Meall Reamhar......

Looking east in the direction of Dunkeld from low down on the track.....

Heading up.....

The summit views:

Looking south to the Marilyns of Meall nan Caorach and Meall Reamhar.....

Looking west over Loch Freuchie to Beinn na Gainimh and Meall nan Fuaran.....

Looking north to the Ben Lawers group, the Carn Mairg group and Schiehallion.....

Looking north-east over a big wind farm to the Beinn a'Ghlo group.....

A hill that I had expectations for and which didn't disappoint.
